Registered Manager

Blak Diamond Social Care Ltd (BDSC) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Manager to lead our Children and Young person Placement service. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of care and support for children and young adults within our Children’s Residential Home.

Position Overview

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the placement service, ensuring compliance with regulations, legislation, policies, and procedures. Your role will involve creating a nurturing and safe environment, promoting positive outcomes, and working collaboratively with a dedicated team. Your role will be to go through the Ofsted registration and manage the home according to the expected standards.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

Provide effective leadership and management to the placement service, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Quality Care Delivery

Ensure the delivery of high-quality care to children and young adults through adherence to regulatory requirements and organisational policies.
Implement and monitor individual care plans, adapting them to meet the changing needs of residents.

Staff Development

Lead, motivate, and develop a skilled and compassionate team to provide excellent care and support.
Facilitate training and development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Establish and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders, including local authorities, social workers, and healthcare professionals.
Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other relevant individuals to ensure the well-being of residents.

Reporting and Documentation

Generate accurate and timely reports for reviews, maintaining comprehensive written records for monitoring and evaluation purposes.

Safeguarding

Implement and oversee robust safeguarding procedures to protect children and young adults from any form of abuse.

Requirements

Qualifications

Hold a relevant management qualification in social care or a related field. Level 5.

Experience

Proven experience in a managerial role within a children and young adult placement setting.

Regulatory Knowledge

Strong understanding of relevant regulations, legislation, and standards governing child and young adult care services.

Leadership Skills

Demonstrated leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team.

Communication

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff, residents, and external stakeholders effectively.

Problem-Solving

Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make informed decisions in a dynamic environment.

Salary

£45,000- £48,000

Blak Diamond Social Care Ltd (BDSC) is actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building strong professional relationships, maintaining a safe environment, and promoting equality for young individuals aged 16-18 in our semi-independent living support service.

Responsibilities

Build trusting relationships with young people through active listening, empathy, and understanding.
Provide practical support, guidance, and advice to assist young individuals in developing essential life skills.
Collaborate with a diverse team to create and implement individual support plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each young person.
Encourage and facilitate the engagement and participation of young people in community activities, education, employment, and training opportunities.
Organise and deliver group workshops and activities promoting personal development, resilience, and positive mental health.
Supervise and accompany young people during external activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of support provided, progress, and any incidents or concerns, adhering to data protection and confidentiality policies.

Requirements

Prior experience in supporting young people aged 16-18, preferably within a care or counselling setting.

Knowledge of challenges faced by young people, including homelessness, mental health issues, substance misuse, or involvement with the criminal justice system.

Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workload efficiently, prioritising tasks accordingly.
Proficient in basic IT skills, including email, Microsoft Office, and maintaining electronic records.
